Our stylish tented camp, offering a panoply of experiences, seamlessly combines the front-row ambiance of the wilderness with the comfort of a high-end retreat, allowing you to immerse yourself in the pristine surroundings, relax in comfort, and venture on optimal adventures, all while taking in the pure thrills of nature. Leleshwa’ Camp is set up in Ol Derekesi Conservancy on the Mara Reserve boundary and overlooking the Sand River, a part of the Mara that is first to receive the vast herds of wildebeest each year as they cross the border from Tanzania and and spill over the plains of the Mara. The area between the Sand River and the Tanzania border has possibly the lowest vehicle density of any part of the Mara ecosystem, meaning true privacy on game drives in the jewel in Kenya’s safari crown. Remote and topographically varied, the picturesque area has a wide variety of resident game to search for, regardless of where the migrating herds have reached. In addition to amazing game-viewing by day and night, you’ll be able to explore the bush on foot, meet and share stories with Maasai tribes folk, splash around and cool off in the Sand River during the heat of the day and enjoy having a very special part of the Mara to yourself. Leleshwa Camp is available on a exclusive or shared basis and can accommodate up to 15 people in seven luxury tents. Our spacious, custom-made tents are set on raised earthen platforms and all have a private verandah with views over the Sand River valley and hills beyond, and en-suite bathrooms, with flushing toilets and piping hot showers - Nestled in a stream valley amongst picturesque hills and rolling plains, Leleshwa Camp consists of six well-appointed tents each of which have an en-suite bathroom and a large verandah. Each tent has either two single or one king sized bed with duvet bedding. The tents are insect-proof and pleasantly furnished with thoughtful touches. Bathrooms are fitted with flushing toilets and a hot safari shower. At night, hurricane lamps bathe the camp in a soft, warm light and Masai warriors are on patrol to escort you. Our camp offers a harmonious blend of comfort and immersion in nature, providing excellent game-watching views and a taste of palatial luxury. Whether you’re a solo traveler, a family, or a group of explorers who share a common quest for adventure, prepare to be immersed in the captivating sights and sounds of the African bush To ensure your utmost comfort, the camp provides an array of amenities. Running hot and cold water is available in each tent, allowing you to indulge in refreshing showers at any time of the day. The en-suite bathrooms are equipped with flush toilets, maintaining a high standard of sanitation. For your convenience, electric lights illuminate the interior of the tents, providing a warm and cozy ambiance. You’ll also find outlets in each tent, allowing you to charge your electronic devices or use any other electrical equipment you may have.
